Pandemis and Obliquebanded Leafroller
EB1582
The publication identifies two leafrolling insects that commonly appear in commercial fruit orchards in the Pacific Northwest. Photographs show life stages and damage. Pandemis leafroller attacks cherry and apple orchards in the Yakima valley and north central Washington; attacks apricots and peaches in the Yakima area. In Oregon, Obliquebanded leafroller is a common pest of apple and cherry. Authors describe life stages of the insects, life history, host plants, and economic impact. The control section gives suggestions for monitoring pests, biological control, and timing of chemical control. For identification only--no chemical recommendations.
