Wetlands: Nature
Wetlands: Nature EB1723
Author(s): Edward B. Adams
How do you recognize a wetland? If the hydrology, plants, and soils are typical of wetland habitat, then the shoreline, bog, marsh, or swamp is a wetland. Wetlands benefit the environment, trap suspended and dissolved contaminants, and use excess nutrients. Author discusses slowing channels through wetlands to increase cleansing time for water.
