A Ready Reference for Irrigation Manual of Practice EB1810
Author(s): Ronald E. Hermanson and Peter Canessa
Designed to protect both surface and groundwater, this manual presents a brief review of the six overall management objectives for irrigated agriculture in Washington State. These are: 1) Minimize water losses, 2) Improve irrigation system perfomance, 3) Minimize excess fertilizer, 4) Minimize excess chemicals, 5) Reduce contamination of surface water by sedimentation, and 6) Prevent direct aquifer contamination by wells. This bulletin discusses irrigation scheduling and performance. Contact agencies and diagrams are included.
