Plant-Parasitic Nematodes Affecting Wheat Yield in the Pacific NW
EM8887
Author(s): R. Smiley
Nematodes occur worldwide in all environments. Most species are benficial to agriculture, but some species are parasitic to plants or animals. The plant-parasitic species cause estimated annual crop losses of $8 billion in the U.S. Several plant-parasitic nematode species are known to occur in small grain crop fields in eastern Oregon and Washington. This publication discusses nematode biology, impacts on crop plants, diagnosis methods, and control methods.
