Washington State ranked 5th in U.S. Canola production in 1998, having 8% of the U.S. total. Canola is the registered name for food-quality rapeseed oil. Canola is produced in intermediate and higher rainfall zones in dryland eastern Washington. Growing conditions, culture and common pest problems are addressed and illustrated in color. Control measures are given where applicable.
