This manual is designed to improve the knowledge and skill of structural pest inspectors (SPIs) in Washington State. It provides instruction on how to conduct a structural pest inspection and write inspection reports, and is a valuable aid for anyone wanting to take (and pass) the Washington SPI exam. Although, it does not provide everything SPIs need to know, it provides information on the laws and regulations governing structural pest inspecting, what to look for when conducting a structural pest inspection, how to recognize the most important wood destroying organisms in Washington as well as information about their biology, and the terminology used in describing infestations and associated structures. The manual has 80 illustrations, over 70 are color photographs.
