Russian Thistle
Russian Thistle PNW0461   A familiar annual all across the arid West. This spiny, tumbleweed-shaped plant competes with wheat crops for water and can significantly reduce yield. Green to red or deep purple flowers appear above spine-tipped bracts. Cultural, biological, and chemical controls are discussed.
